There is an ancient street with a history of more than 800 years, Kuotou Street, located in the north part of the county seat of Shicheng. Walking on the road covered with cobblestones, people can still feel the migratory vicissitudes of Hakka ancestors.

Kuotou Street, built in Shaoxing years of the Southern Song Dynasty, is about 2.5 km long and 2-3 meters wide. In the past, Kuotou Street is the only way to Guangdong and Fujian for Hakkas from the North and the Central Plain of China. The merchants, pullers and porters always on the move were willing to have a rest in Kuotou Street. There are many temples, ancient arch, ancient wells and ancient architecture in Kuotou Street today.

Among the numerous ancient buildings, the most famous one in Kuotou Street is "Thoroughfare of Fujian and Guangdong", also known as Zhenwu Tower, wich has witnessed the intermediate transit and southward migration of Hakkas. It is the only gateway to Guangdong and Fujian in old times. It was built during Ming Dynasty (1610).

Kuotou Street has attracted a lot of overseas Hakkas to look for their roots.
